Starting June 1, 2025, the Invoice Reporting Portal (IRP) will treat invoice/document numbers as case-insensitive for IRN generation.
This means invoice numbers like abc101, ABC101, or Abc101 will all be considered the same, and will be auto-converted to uppercase (ABC101) before generating the IRN. This update is in line with how invoice numbers are already handled in GSTR-1 and aims to avoid duplication and ensure consistency.
