ENHANCEMENTS: Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) implementation To strengthen account security,MFA setup is now mandatory on the IRP Portal. Upon logging in with your credentials, you will be prompted to register for MFA. Login will not be permitted until MFA registration is successfully completed. Once registered, you will be required to enter an OTP (sent to your mobile and email) each time you log in. After login, you can update your MFA settings via Account > Change Password > Setup MFA Note: You will need to verify your alternate login credentials for changes. This enhancement ensures improved protection of your account and data. All users must complete MFA setup to continue accessing the portal.

ENHANCEMENTS:E-Invoice Reporting Restriction for Taxpayers with AATO ₹10 Cr+ : Effective April 1, 2025, taxpayers with an Aggregate Annual Turnover (AATO) of ₹10 Cr and above must report e-Invoices within 30 days from the invoice date. This rule applies to Invoices, Credit Notes, and Debit Notes. If an e-Invoice is reported beyond the 30-day limit, the system will restrict IRN generation and display an error stating that the invoice cannot be processed due to exceeding the allowed time window. ENHANCEMENTS: Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) implementation - To enhance account security, users will now be required to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on the IRP Portal.A new Register for MFA option is available under Account > Change Password. Users must complete MFA setup to secure their accounts. On login, users who haven’t set up MFA will see a prompt to register, with the option to proceed immediately or do it later. Once MFA is set up, users will need to enter a verification code from their authenticator app each time they log in. A Setup MFA option is also available post-login for users who need to reset their MFA due to device changes or app issues.E-Way Bill Date Validation - If the document date exceeds 180 days from the current date, users will receive an error message and will not be able to generate an e-Way Bill. This update helps maintain data integrity and prevent the use of outdated documents for e-Way Bill generation.

FIXED ISSUES: Pincode-State Mapping Update - Resolved the issue where pin codes starting with 140 were not accepted for Chandigarh in the Pincode-State Mapping. Chandigarh is now correctly mapped to pin codes 140 and 160 (specific numbers, not ranges). ENHANCEMENTS: HSN Codes Updated - As per Notification No. 17/2023-Central Tax (Rate) dated 19-10-2023 and Notification No. 72/2023-Customs (N.T.) dated 30-09-2023, new HSN codes have been introduced. The database has been updated with the new HSN codes in alignment with NIC to ensure seamless processing.

Important Advisory on Verifying Signed Invoices / QR Code for E-Invoices Generated Between 21st Nov 2024 to 26th Nov 2024 from IRIS IRP

Registration

From https://einvoice6.gst.gov.in/login click on Sign Up and get started

a. Select user type as API Integrator
b. Taxpayer: User who wants to manage einvoice activities using web portal shall register under this option
c. API Integrator: User who want to opt for API Integration shall register as API Integrator. For more details about API Integrator kindly refer to https://einvoice6.gst.gov.in/content/kbtopic/developerconsole/
d. Your Name: User can set username as per his requirements. And same will be used for addressing any communication between IRISIRP and the user
e. User Id: This can be any valid Email Id or Mobile. It is recommended to use Email Id used for official communications. Since, all the communications from IRIS IRP will be sent on this User id.
f. Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy have to be read and accepted by user to proceed with sign up

Note: One User Id can be registered either as Taxpayer or as API Integrator
Tip: Organisation level common email IDs can also be used for sign-up. However, these IDs should be checked regularly for any communications from IRIS IRP

a. Once User adds details on Sign up page. 6-digit OTP (One Time Password) is sent on user id provided by Taxpayer.
b. OTP will remain valid for 10 minutes
c. User also has the option to trigger resend OTP, in case same is not received
d. Once OTP is verified user can set password for his user id

Note: Once OTP is verified, the user id gets registered with IRIS IRP irrespective of user setting his/her password or not. Hence, same user id after OTP verification cannot be used again on IRIS IRP for registration

a. User can set password for his user id with below parameters

  • Minimum 8 and Maximum 16 characters
  • Atleast one character in uppercase and lowercase
  • Atleast one special character
    iv. Atleast one numeric value

b. New and Confirm password shall match

Note: If OTP for any user id is verified and taxpayer has failed to set password, taxpayer can any time sign up and set password directly without the need to verify OTP.

Login

a. Once the password for any user id is set. User can Log In using user id and password
b. User must enter captcha details, if required on Portal
c. Once user has logged in, the next step is Add GSTIN details
d. In case user has forgotten his/her password same can be reset from Log in screen by clicking on Forgot Password link
e. Log in session remains active for 8 hrs and user shall log in again continue after 8 hrs
